Students

Since 2007 Student Hubs has been supporting students to take action to tackle social and environmental issues. To continue our legacy we have collated everything we’ve learned over the past 16 years into toolkits, workbooks and reflections tools to support you to take the next step in your journey as an active citizen.

Guide to volunteering

An introduction to social action to support you to understand the benefits volunteering will have for both you and your community. The guide includes frameworks and resources to support individuals to engage meaningfully with the activities they choose to undertake, making best use of their time and skills.

Guide to incubation

This toolkit provides comprehensive guidance for incubating a new activity, considering how to get from ideation, to delivering a pilot, and to scaling up or closing down activities. This is based on the process we used at our local Hubs with students and best practice from across the innovation sector.

Student leader skills workbook

Everybody can be a leader. Leadership is not about a specific role, instead it’s about how you use your power, connections and voice to make change with others. This workbook helps you develop four key leadership skills: Collaboration, Communication, Self awareness and Problem solving. To get started why not do the student skills audit.

Accessible programme design workbook

Accessibility is literally the ability to access. And accessible programme design? It’s about how we design activities to ensure everyone can get involved, and everyone is included regardless of their characteristics, background or previous experience. This checklist is a great starting point to support everyone to shine in your activity.

Campaigning and Advocacy workbook

This Campaigning and Advocacy workbook is based on a training series which was designed to equip individuals like you with the skills you need to become an active citizen, and make the change you want to see. Work through five modules to build your confidence, and expertise, when it comes to campaigning.
