Structured Volunteering
Structured volunteering has been the life blood of our activities for a number of years, getting our volunteers to connect with the local area and with young people.
- Schools Plus is our flagship programme that empowers University of Southampton students like you to offer academic support in a wide range of subjects to pupils across the city. Ultimately, tackling educational inequality
- Libraries Plus brings Schools Plus into local community libraries, making academic support event more accessible to the families and young people who will benefit the most
- Empower is a 1:1 mentoring scheme which matches university student mentors with pupils at risk of underachieving to build their expectations for future life
- Branch Up activity days invite student mentors and 7-11 year olds on free days out. These days develop key social and emotional skills, self-belief and new friendships
- Inspire, Debate, Change is a series of civil education workshops led by university students for young people to raise awareness and empower active citizenship
- Invent Plus engineering workshops develop problem solving and teamwork skills whilst introducing young people to STEM careers
