Join Student Hubs to look back on 16 years of social action, including case studies, our impact and a Q&A.
Student Hubs works in partnership with UK universities to deliver student social action programmes which are place-based and engage local communities, fostering students’ ‘skills for life’ to ensure they leave university with the key competencies to be active citizens. Our ‘skills for life’ for students and graduates encompasses leadership, communication, teamwork, resilience, confidence and belonging, as well as our programmes enhancing students’ university experience, wellbeing, and engagement with their university course.
About our Virtual October Showcase
In June 2024, Student Hubs announced our closure planned for January 2025. As part of this closure, we are delivering a range of virtual events, webinars and toolkits to celebrate our work and uphold the legacy we leave as an organisation, providing students, university staff and third sector organisations with the tools they need to deliver high quality student social action, civic engagement, and strong people and culture culture.
Our October Showcase on 23 October from 1-2pm aims to celebrate and recognise the incredible work and achievements of our student volunteers, staff and community and university partners across our 16 year history. We are pleased to deliver this event in partnership with the Civic University Network.
Key reasons to sign up to attend our virtual event include:
- To learn more about the power of student social action. Student social action has been the core of our work for 16 years, and we believe it should be a vital part of students’ educational experience – we want to show you why in this session.
- To hear about the impact of this work. We want to bring to life the impact student social action can have on students, universities and communities through our case studies, impact and student panel.
- To gain inspiration for your university strategy. This is the start of our events aimed at the higher education sector to support you to embed student social action, student leadership, and civic engagement within your work. Join us to hear what is possible, what works, and more about our upcoming events schedule.
