
Gap year and overseas volunteering programmes now make up a global industry worth around £11 billion a year.
Consequently it is about as difficult as trying to lick your own nose to decipher the difference between organisations all working in the area of ‘international volunteering’.
International volunteering is an area full of profit making organisations, social enterprises, not-for-profits and charities. Many of which have hugely different aims, objectives and agendas. So how do you choose the right organisation to go abroad with or should you even go at all?
